August 9 – Self-Control
Scripture:
“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” — Proverbs 16:32 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Self-control is the ability to master our desires and impulses. It’s often the hardest fruit to cultivate because it requires dying to our own will. Yet through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to say “no” to sin and “yes” to righteousness. Each moment of surrender brings spiritual growth.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, give me strength to practice self-control. Help me resist temptation and choose what honors You. Teach me to guard my heart and lead my life according to Your will. Amen.
